Combining cosmic horror, body horror, voodoo, mad science, and Eldritch abominations, this first issue begins a three part nightmare that drags readers deep into a cursed swamp where some secrets were never meant to be uncovered.
The Story
In 1987, Professor Crandall ventures into a remote region of the Louisiana bayou in search of fame and recognition. There, he discovers a strange fungal organism unlike anything ever recorded.
What begins as a groundbreaking discovery soon becomes an all consuming obsession.
As Crandall pushes deeper into his research, he uncovers evidence that the organism may possess an intelligence that should not exist. The deeper he investigates, the more he realizes that something ancient may be watching him in return.
His desperate pursuit of knowledge unleashes a horrifying chain of events that threatens not only his sanity, but everyone around him.
Readers can expect grotesque mutations, eldritch horrors, forbidden rituals, scientific experiments gone horribly wrong, and a fast descent into madness that grows more disturbing with every page.
A Classic Horror Comic Reimagined for Modern Readers
The Swamp Horror is inspired by the public domain horror story "The Swamp Horror" by Richard Kahn and Harry Harrison, originally published in Beware! Chilling Tales of Horror #15 in 1953.
When we discovered the original story, we immediately saw the potential for something larger. Its themes of obsession, scientific arrogance, and humanity's inability to comprehend the unknown remain just as powerful today as they were more than seventy years ago.
Rather than simply retelling the original story, The Swamp Horror expands its foundation into a larger cosmic horror saga, introducing new characters, deeper mythology, bloody action-packed scenes, and even greater terrors lurking beneath the surface.

The Swamp Horror blends several of our favorite horror traditions into one terrifying experience.
Fans of cosmic horror will discover ancient forces beyond human understanding. Lovers of body horror will witness grotesque mutations.
